I saw The Butterfly Man perform at Wittenberg University in Springfield, OH when I was a freshman. He opened for Oroboros (Cleveland based jam band) down in Myer’s Hollow. He was great! When I was working for a youth shelter down in Florida, years later, I used to use one of his jokes on the kids. It went, “Don’t smoke marijuana, it’ll make your hair fall out.” At the time, I was 28 years old and losing my hair. The kids used to laugh. The staff used to laugh. I’m really sorry to hear after all these years that Robert has passed away. I would have liked to have seen him again.
