This Brass Top Hat was originally dubbed “The Butter Cup” when Robert Nelson, while performing at the Edmonton International Street Performers Festival, suggested that some sort of award be given to individuals who’s work represented a significant contribution to the world of Street Theatre. This award, rather than being associated with some sort of competition, recognized excellence with-in the community and really embodies the notion that certain members of the Busking World are dedicated to creating a sense of community as much as delivering great shows.
