Guy Collins (aka The Groovy Guy) started his busking career as a teenager on the streets of Paris juggling 3 balls with a bunch of hippies. For the next couple of years he became a juggling and circus fanatic attending as many of the European juggling festivals possible and also attending Circus school in Bristol all the time supporting himself with street shows and occasional paid gigs.
Blackpool Pleasure Beach took him on to entertain their crowds and they also sent him to theme parks in Sweden and Germany. Sometime in the early nineties he started performing at Covent Garden Market in London and immediately fell in love with the pitch, taking time out only to do brief tours of Australia and the Netherlands.
In late 2001 he took his young family to Key West for a holiday and ended up staying there for nine years. With his sanity in question in 2010 he moved to rural Vermont where he has been ever since. In the warmer months you can find him performing on Church Street, Burlington, VT. He is also a regular at the Inner Harbor, Baltimore, MD. Just occasionally you might still see him at Covent Garden, London and Faneuil Hall, Boston, MA.
Guy was also the first Busker to get a $10,000 Drop in his hat on Penn Jillette’s ‘Street Cred’ show for the Travel Channel.
