Selection Process

Medallionn

The nomination committee is made up of the staff and contributors to the Busker Hall of Fame Project. This committee recommends deserving individuals or groups as candidates for this yearly recognition and these nominees are then voted upon.

Nominations are suggested based on the influence and significance of an artist(s)’s contribution to the development and perpetuation of street performance and all nominees must have at least 15 years of involvement in street performance and/or street arts in some capacity.

Hall of Fame inductees are chosen for their innovation, inspiration, promotion, sponsorship, teaching, pitch development, event organization, international influence, and/or some contribution to the community that has significantly advanced the art form worldwide, past to present.

The voting process works like this:

After the nominees have been selected, an on-line voting system will provide subscribers to the Busker Hall of Fame mailing list with the opportunity to cast their vote for one of the selected nominees or to nominate another performer of their selection.

Ballots & Voting Breakdown –

  • The nomination committee will be responsible for two thirds of final decision.
  • On-line balloting will represent the other third.

I’d like to cast my vote for Dick Finkel to be inducted into the Busker Hall of Fame.
I know how hard he worked to make the Edmonton International Street Performers Fesitval such a success. He loved being the producer and loved and respected all
of the performers for their talent and the ability to make people smile. He was a wonderful guy and I miss him terribly. I’m his sister Judy and, although prejudice,
I think he deserves the honor!!!
